I looked at him for a while. I tried to get back in touch with times when I have felt like this. There was once, about a 2 week period in my life when, for real...this was how it was.

Everyone has it to some degree all the time. But this intensity, fortunately, isn't that often. Still, I think everyone has felt this intensity at one time of another as well.

His arms hanging long and without elbows conveys some of this sense -- that you can't do anything about where you are.

That feeling is what your cartoon conveys to me. And feeling you can't or won't allow yourself to explode, or move with any reaction, is what can bring on this state of near explosion/losing it.

So, I'm not suggesting you change it. But I wondered if that might be what feels "missing"? Elbows?

Again, I think you have a talent for picking the right colors, apart from the obvious skill of finding good things to portray and doing so in your own unique style.
